A bumper-pull hitch does not by itself mean a load can be hauled without a CDL. Where we can't confidently determine it from verified information, the load is marked Verify CDL requirements instead of non-CDL. Always confirm the rules that apply to your own operation.

How free carrier onboarding works

Carriers and independent drivers join Bumpster Pull at no cost. You enter your USDOT number, and Bumpster checks federal registration, operating authority and insurance on file from government records. Your carrier passport then records your tow vehicle, trailer, hitch and the bumper-pull loads you can safely pull.

New authorities are welcome. Bumpster shows your authority age instead of rejecting you for it. Verification is a records check that helps shippers decide; it is not a safety rating or a legal guarantee, and records are rechecked over time.

Frequently asked questions

Does carrier onboarding cost anything?
No. Verification, the carrier passport, the trust badge and annual rechecks are free.
Can a new authority join?
Yes. New authorities can join and book loads; the authority grant date is shown so shippers can see it.
Do I need a CDL?
Not always. It depends on the combined weight ratings of your rig and your state's rules. Some loads are marked as possible non-CDL opportunities, but you are responsible for confirming you are legal to haul them.
What does verification check?
Federal registration status, operating authority, insurance on file when available, and your identity and equipment details.
